The objective of this project was to design a promotional poster for our graduating class's end-of-year vernissage. There were little to no constraints on the content of the poster, only that we had to incorporate our personal approach to illustration.
L'objectif de ce projet était de concevoir une affiche promotionnelle pour notre vernissage d'illustration. Il n'y avait que très peu de contraintes sur le contenu de l'affiche, seulement que nous devions incorporer notre approche personnelle envers l'illustration.

Although my first couple of sketches were playing it safe with universally appealing imagery, I still felt unsatisfied with how they lacked what I had found to be my style of illustration.
I knew that I had wanted to try to emulate the same bold imagery and emotional tone that I achieved in my What If? poster, so I abandoned the more conservative imagery in favor of producing something that truly represented what I had discovered within my art during my time in Dawson's Illustration program.
Bien que mes deux premières esquisses aient joué la carte de la sécurité avec une imagerie universellement attrayante, je ne me sentais toujours pas satisfaite de l'absence de ce que j'avais trouvé être mon style d'illustration.
Je savais que je voulais essayer de reproduire les mêmes images audacieuses et le même ton émotionnel que dans mon affiche "What If ?". J'ai donc abandonné l'imagerie plus conservatrice pour produire quelque chose qui représente vraiment ce que j'ai découvert dans mon art pendant mon étude au sein du programme d'illustration de Dawson.
